Russian squirrel pack 'kills dog'
Black squirrel (archive)
Local people suggest hunger is driving squirrels to extremes
Squirrels have bitten to death a stray dog which was barking at them in a Russian park, local media report.

Passers-by were too late to stop the attack by the black squirrels in a village in the far east, which reportedly lasted about a minute.

They are said to have scampered off at the sight of humans, some carrying pieces of flesh.

A pine cone shortage may have led the squirrels to seek other food sources, although scientists are sceptical.

The attack was reported in parkland in the centre of Lazo, a village in the Maritime Territory, and was witnessed by three local people.

A "big" stray dog was nosing about the trees and barking at squirrels hiding in branches overhead when a number of them suddenly descended and attacked, reports say.

"They literally gutted the dog," local journalist Anastasia Trubitsina told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

"When they saw the men, they scattered in different directions, taking pieces of their kill away with them."

Mikhail Tiyunov, a scientist in the region, said it was the first he had ever heard of such an attack.

While squirrels without sources of protein might attack birds' nests, he said, the idea of them chewing a dog to death was "absurd".

"If it really happened, things must be pretty bad in our forests," he added.

Komosmolskaya Pravda notes that in a previous incident this autumn chipmunks terrorised cats in a part of the territory.

A Lazo man who called himself only Mikhalich said there had been "no pine cones at all" in the local forests this year.

"The little beasts are agitated because they have nothing to eat," he added.

I think the majority of the youth in our time are settling for mediocrity and they are also happy being uneducated and it also seems they like to wallow and galavant in their ignorance *makes me sad*. Hope they realize their mistake before it's too late.

Ok Now down to business. Why are the youth of today settling for C'd ans D's in school. It seems today that the standard for education is being lowered around the world and the intelliigent and better students are rarely seen nowadays. It's even present on forums, members seem to run away from intelligent discussion. LOOK IGNORANCE AND A LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE IS SWEEPING OUR YOUTHS OF THEIR FEET IT'S TIME TO PUT A STOP TO IT. [ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT IGNORNACE IN SCHOOL] . I mean kids read something, don't just use the internet for fun and games you have the largest archive of knowledge in the world right infront of you, what are you afraid to use it?

Your Thoughts?

Cell Phone Theft
Cell phone theft is a growing problem. In the UK a cell phone is stolen every 3 minutes. Unauthorized charges in excess of $12,000 have been run up on a cell phone stolen in NY. We are receiving more and more complaints about large bills run up by a thief which the cell phone companies are demanding that the subscriber pay. (See FAQ for an example). To avoid a prolonged dispute as well as possible credit problems, we suggest that you take the following steps:

-Lock your cell phone with a password.

-Keep track of where your cell phone is at all times.

-Read your cell phone contract carefully -- some contracts provide for specific steps you must take if your cell phone is stolen.

-If your phone is stolen you should notify the police at once so there is a written record of the theft. Notify your cell phone company right away and ask them to turn your phone off.

-When you talk to your cell phone company about the theft, make a written note of the time of the call, the person you spoke with and that person's position. This information will be useful if the cell company later says that the theft was not reported. Feel free to contact us if there are any problems.

That was a quote from somewhere on this site http://www.wirelessconsumers.org

Anyhow this is very true. Some people came into our class at school, after school offcourse and tried to steal my friends Cellular phone. That behavior is completly unacceptable angry.gif Offcourse those fools never got the phone but never the less they came with knives.....Just over a cell phone, come on. In Jamaica people are being killed because of cell phones dry.gif This is pissing me off!

Also Cell phone theft is at an all time high all over the world now!

Well, I am not saying that there should be hand-out to these impoverished people, however a "little" help is good. NO doubt the people who fall below the poverty line seek handouts but there a stilla few who try to work there way up but can't because neccesities such as light, water ,even stationary are not there. -_-.

Also many of the impoverished individuals can't manage money so possibly some free eductaion workshops can be put in place.

The 1989 Tiananmen Square Protests (Tiananmen Square Massacre or June 4th Massacre or 6/4 Incident), were a series of student-led demonstrations held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the People's Republic of China, between April 15, 1989 and June 4, 1989. The protest, denouncing China's economic instability and political corruption, was violently suppressed by armed soldiers ordered into Beijing by the PRC government.

Although student protests had been occurring for over a year, the famous protest began in mid-April 1989. It was triggered by the death of Hu Yaobang, the general secretary of the CCP between 1981 and 1987. Hu was forced to resign by Deng Xiaoping because of his soft attitude toward the student unrest in 1986. He was widely respected among students and intellectuals.

The protests began on a relatively small scale, in the form of mourning for the late Hu Yaobang and demands that the party revise their official view of him. The protests grew larger after news of confrontation between students and police spread; the belief by students that the Chinese media was distorting the nature of their activities also led to increased support. At Hu's funeral, a large group of students gathered at Tiananmen square and requested, but failed, to meet premier Li Peng, widely regarded to be Hu's political rival. Thus students called for a strike in universities in Beijing. On April 26, an editorial in People's Daily, following an internal speech made by Deng Xiaoping, accused the students of plotting turmoil. The statement enraged the students, and on April 27 about 50,000 students went onto the streets of Beijing, ignoring the warning of a crackdown made by authorities and insisted that the government withdraw the statement.

On May 4, approximately 100,000 students and workers marched in Beijing making demands for free media reform and a formal dialogue between the authorities and student-elected representatives. The government rejected the proposed dialogue, only agreeing to talk to members of appointed student organizations. On May 13, large groups of students occupied Tiananmen square and started a hunger strike, demanding the government withdraw the accusation made in the People's Daily editorial and begin talks with the student representatives. Hundreds of students went on hunger strike and were supported by hundreds of thousands of protesting students and residents of Beijing, which lasted for a week.

Although the government declared martial law on May 20, the demonstrations continued. The hunger strike was approaching the end of the third week, and the government resolved to end the matter before deaths occurred. After deliberating among Communist party leaders, the use of military force to resolve the crisis was ordered, and Zhao Ziyang was ousted from political leadership as a result of his failure to prevent military action. The Communist Party then decided to stop the situation before it escalated further. Soldiers and tanks from the 27th and 28th Armies of the People's Liberation Army were sent to take control of the city. Although the government ordered all civilians in Beijing to remain indoors by numerous television and loudspeaker broadcasts, these forces were attacked by Chinese workers and students in the streets of Beijing and the ensuing violence resulted in both civilian and army deaths. The Chinese government acknowledged that a few hundred people died.

Estimates of civilian deaths vary greatly: the Central Intelligence Agency estimates that 400-800 died, while the Chinese Red Cross put the figure at 2,600. Student protestors claim that over 7,000 were killed. Following the violence, the government conducted widespread arrests to suppress the remaining supporters of the movement. It limited access for the foreign press and controlled coverage of the events in the mainland Chinese press. The suppression of the Tiananmen Square protest caused widespread condemnation by the United States and other Western Powers of the PRC government.

Extract from ~Wikipedia~

I dont know If you'll take the time to read all that but I feel that it was a serious injustice and could have been dealt with otherwise! Many people died for nothing. Howev if this article is completly accurate then the students also had no right to attack the armed forces. 2 wrongs dont make a right!

Diversion can help with depression. In my opinion Sadness is the most useless emotion, you could channel depression into anger like I did. It is more useful and you can get more done when your not pulling your sorry self from point A to point B

Poverty- the state of being without the necessities of daily living, often associated with need, hardship and lack of resources across a wide range of circumstances.

Now I can see a wide range of people in my own country that fall below the poverty line. I don't think the government is doing enough. Now I don't expect the government to just give these people houses to live in and cars to drive but get them off the streets educate them. Give them shelter, food and clothes. They are still people and deserve a shot at life. It hurts when I see kids younger than me on the streets begging for money. When you see all those people on the streets wiping windshields don't you think they could be helping society much more if the government actually cared about them. The government always say "we care" but they don't. Poor people should get tax cuts not the rich.

Anyhow your thoughts?

Spy Sweeper is an excellent program! So is Ad-aware though? Anyhow a spyware removal utility has to scan your drives to check for spyware if I remeber correctly. Anyhow a question of my own. Why are you interested in a spyware removal software that doesn't scan your computer?

It is important somewhat. It can also make the other end-user undertstand what you're saying better. Spamming is stupid and very unproductive. Also SHOUTING like that is ok at times. However one should not make a whole post in caps -_- Anyhow its all about preference...so yes it matters and for all those who go by internet etiquette I salute you!
